Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is a federal program that funds local municipalities allowing them to clean up neighborhoods by purchasing and rehabbing foreclosed and abandoned homes. Pasco county is the most active and has received $19,000,000 in the first round of NSP funding.
The houses then sold at cost to a qualified low-to-mid income family and the County provides $20, 000 to $30,000 in NSP down payment assistance. Its a win-win situation the foreclosed and abandoned homes are off the street and qualifying families are given the opportunity to become homeowners.
